Disability Swimming Classification: To ensure that competition is fair and equal Paralympic and SASAII Swimming have a classification system in place which determines which swimmers are eligible to compete and how swimmers are grouped together for competition.
Swimmers with impairments will be expected to submit medical or psychological reports which in turn will be handed to Dea Slattery, SSA Para Swim Convener and Classifier for classification.
Special Assembly at Estralita Special School in Lydenburgfor the announcement of a swimming sponsorship from the Mpumalanga Academy of Sport for Carol Malinga on 3 June 2016
Mr June Nkosi from the Mpumalanga Academy of Sport anounced the further sponsorship of another four Estralita swimmers at this assembly.
SASA-II (South African Sports Association for the Interlectually Impaired) Age Group Games held in Port Elizabeth from 7 - 11 March 2016
For the first time in the history of this competition Mpumalanga took the trophy for first place.
